Future of Bi-Town Economics Development
These workshops are the critical point of effort in identifying the indigenous resources in our region which can be leveraged to create a meaningful regional economic development strategy.
This asset-based approach to economic development planning will identify those things which make our area unique and how those assets might be leveraged for economic gain.
In addition this process will serve to meet the United States Economic Development Authority’s (EDA) requirements for the creation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS). Once this plan is complete the region will become eligible for funding for various economic development initiatives through the EDA.
The November 30th meeting was facilitated by bi-town planner Bill Colvin and attended by approximately 20 people representing a good cross section of the community. Discussion was lively and a number of assets were identified and explored.
