Attention Artistic People

The Dover Bicentennial Committee has $500 for you.

The Dover Bicentennial Committee is hosting a contest for a design that will be on one side of the Dover Bicentennial Coin.

Rules of Contest

  1. Work must be original, and of a Dover historical event, place or structure.  Please note that the Dover Town Hall will be featured on one side of the coin, so this is not a valid entry.
  2. Work must be no larger than 8½ by 11 inches.
  3. Work must be DELIVERED to the Dover Town Office (located at 102 Route 100 in the Village of West Dover) no later than 5 p.m. on August 29, 2008 in a 9" by 12"brown envelope clearly marked Bicentennial Committee with the artist's name and telephone number.
  4. The Bicentennial Committee will select the winning entry, and present the check to the winner at the Dover Day 2008 (date to be determined).
  5. All submissions shall become the property of the Bicentennial Committee and may be returned to the artist at the Committee’s discretion.

DOVER PLANNING COMMISSION

NOTICE OF  PUBLIC HEARING FOR DOVER TOWN PLAN

Pursuant to 24 VSA §4444, notice is hereby given that the Dover Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Dover Town Offices at 7:00 p.m. on May 19, 2008 for the purpose of accepting comments on the proposed Town Plan. 

The Town Plan covers all of Dover geographic area and will replace the current Town Plan. Individual chapters include an introduction; community profile; land use; natural resources, community facilities & services; housing; transportation; energy; and community resources; compatibility with other towns; and maps. Specific policies and priorities for action listed in each of these areas have been reviewed and updated to reflect the Town's current needs. These provide a basis for community programs and decision-making and a framework to guide the Town's future development.

The hearing is open to the public. Full text copies of the proposed amendments to the Draft Dover Town Plan are available for public review at the Dover Town Office, located at 102 Route 100, during normal business hours.
